Bengal's Youth Scheme Sparks Hope Amid Opposition Criticism

The West Bengal government has initiated camps across all 294 assembly constituencies to enroll unemployed youths for the newly launched 'Banglar Yuba Sathi' scheme. The program aims to provide financial aid of Rs 1,500 monthly for jobless individuals within the 21-40 age group.

As the camps opened, thousands lined up to register, with participants including postgraduates and elderly representatives collecting forms on behalf of family members migrating for employment. Despite enthusiasm, opposition concerns were raised regarding the inefficiency of physical camps, questioning why online applications weren't facilitated.

The ruling Trinamool Congress countered these criticisms, emphasizing continuous support for job seekers despite limited resources. The opposition contends previous similar schemes failed without adequate funding, suggesting a similar fate for the current initiative. Nonetheless, the state remains committed to reducing unemployment while addressing political and logistical challenges.
