A protest erupted on Sunday in Janakpuri, West Delhi, as the family of Kamal Dhyani, a 25-year-old bank employee, demanded justice following his tragic death. Dhyani fell into a 15-foot pit reportedly dug by the Delhi Jal Board, sparking allegations of negligence due to inadequate safety measures at the site.
Protesters, including relatives and community members, insisted on proper compensation and accountability from the authorities. They highlighted Kamal's role as the sole breadwinner and sought a government job for a dependent family member. The family remains steadfast in their calls for action, attributing Kamal's death to official negligence.
Despite police detaining seven individuals at the demonstration, the protest stayed peaceful. Officers maintained control while monitoring the crowd. Protesters displayed placards demanding justice and vowed to intensify agitation if their demands remain unaddressed by government officials.
