The Trinamool Congress (TMC) has voiced concerns over the 2026 West Bengal assembly elections' electoral roll publication, accusing the Election Commission of lacking transparency.
In a recent letter to the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), TMC highlighted a worrying reduction of 63.66 lakh names from the electoral list, prompting questions about compliance with Supreme Court directives and the integrity of the registry.
Party leader Abhishek Banerjee called for clarification on supplementary electoral roll inclusions, stressing that daily publication as per judicial orders is imperative for transparency and voter confidence.
