In a fresh controversy over state boundaries, AMMK leader TTV Dhinakaran sharply criticized the DMK government following the placement of a 'Welcome to Kerala' sign by the Kerala government, allegedly within Tamil Nadu's territory. The sign, displayed in both Malayalam and English, prompted Dhinakaran to challenge the DMK on whether this bordered on compromising Tamil Nadu's rights as per the 'Dravidian Model'.

Dhinakaran described the sign's installation in a historically Tamil Nadu-bordered area and the DMK's silence on the issue as 'highly condemnable'. He warned that this action may threaten the livelihood and land rights of local residents, creating an atmosphere of uncertainty in the region.

The AMMK general secretary urged the Tamil Nadu government to take swift action by removing the sign and ramping up border surveillance to prevent similar incidents in the future, emphasizing the need to safeguard state's interests and local communities.
