Tragic Discovery: Couple Found Dead in Ponkunnam

A tragic incident unfolded on Monday in Ponkunnam, as a couple, Sajan Joseph and Anusha Joseph, were discovered dead in their rented home. The family, native to Mannar in Alappuzha district, had relocated recently.

The horrifying discovery was made by the house owner who went upstairs after hearing the couple's three-year-old child crying. Upon receiving no response, he forced entry, finding the couple lying in a pool of blood. With no signs of a break-in, police suspect suicide.

The couple was reportedly under severe financial strain, prompting their move to Ponkunnam. The police, who have registered a case of unnatural death, handed over the child and the bodies to relatives after the postmortem was completed.
