Delhi Police have made an arrest in connection with a tragic incident where a man was run over by a train while chasing a mobile phone snatcher at Shahdara railway station.
Rohit Jha, 25, was apprehended on Monday after police analyzed CCTV footage following the incident on March 6. The pursuit resulted in the death of Rohit Kumar, 22, a resident of Baghpat district in Uttar Pradesh.
Authorities revealed that Jha, a drug addict with a history of theft, had sold the stolen phone to sustain his habits. The arrest followed a thorough investigation led by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Railway) Bharat Reddy, aiming to curb crime in the railway premises.
