TVK's Call for Caste Census Sparks Protests Across Tamil Nadu
The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) staged protests in Tamil Nadu, demanding a caste census and condemning the state for rising crime and deteriorating law and order. The protests, led by party leaders, also called for the withdrawal of political guidelines following the Karur stampede that claimed over 41 lives.

Members of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) demonstrated in district headquarters across Tamil Nadu, pressing the state government to conduct a caste census immediately.
The demonstrations also criticized the state administration for its handling of law and order and sought withdrawal of political guidelines issued after a deadly stampede in Karur.
Alongside the call for a census, protestors condemned the rise in crime and lack of safety for women, with key party figures, Bussy Anand, Aadhav Arjuna, K A Sengottaiyan, and C T R Nirmal Kumar leading the initiatives in Chennai, Erode, and Madurai.
