NCC Leadership Meet Focuses on Modern Training, Vision for Viksit Bharat

The two-day conference of Additional Directors General (ADGs) and Deputy Directors General (DDGs) of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) began at the Manekshaw Centre in New Delhi on March 12, bringing together senior NCC leadership to review organisational priorities, training quality and expansion plans.
Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh addressed the inaugural session, highlighting the need to modernise the NCC and align its future roadmap with India’s long-term development vision of “Viksit Bharat by 2047.”
NCC’s Role in Nation-Building
In his address, the Defence Secretary emphasised the NCC’s vital contribution to nation-building and youth development, noting its active role in a wide range of social outreach programmes across the country.
He urged senior NCC leadership to strengthen coordination and ensure that the organisation’s activities remain closely aligned with the policies and initiatives of the Central Government.
Such synergy, he said, would help advance the core objectives of the NCC, including youth empowerment, discipline, leadership development and civic responsibility.
Strengthening Training and Infrastructure
During the conference, Director General NCC Lt Gen Virendra Vats outlined key initiatives undertaken over the past year to expand the organisation and improve operational capabilities.
