In a significant move, the Indian Government has introduced face authentication technology aimed at simplifying the submission of digital life certificates (DLCs) for pensioners. This innovative approach uses smartphones, making it easier for elderly pensioners, particularly those struggling with biometric submissions, to maintain their benefits.

Union Minister of State for Personnel, Jitendra Singh, highlighted that all pension disbursing banks are instructed to ensure DLC submission compliance. The Department of Pension and Pensioners' Welfare is actively monitoring these banks. Additionally, services are extended to senior citizens through India Post and Payments Bank, post offices, and Gramin Dak Sevaks.

Efforts are underway to aid senior citizens, especially those over 80, with a comprehensive campaign of DLC camps held nationwide from November 1-30 annually. Meanwhile, the CPENGRAMS portal effectively handles and resolves pension-related grievances, demonstrating the government's commitment to streamlining pension services.
