Madurai's Shockwave: Arrests Over LPG Cylinder Hoarding Shake Tamil Nadu

In a landmark enforcement, two individuals in Madurai were detained under the Goondas Act for hoarding LPG cylinders with the intention of black marketing. Police claim this is the first such stringent legal measure against cylinder hoarding in Tamil Nadu's history.

The arrests occurred following a CS-CID tip-off about illegal subsidized domestic gas cylinder diversions for commercial purposes. A raid uncovered 100 domestic and 109 commercial cylinders in one location, while another stash revealed an additional 189 cylinders.

Amid rising fears of fuel shortages, officials urge against panic buying, assuring that Tamil Nadu's petrol and diesel stocks are adequate, contradicting rumors spread by smaller privateness-large company bottlenecks.
