Union Home Minister Amit Shah has inaugurated the sacred holy relics exposition of Tathagata Buddha in Leh, coinciding with the 2569th Buddha Purnima celebrations. This significant event formed part of his two-day visit to Ladakh, which commenced on Friday.
Officials revealed that the revered Piprahwa relics, discovered in India's Uttar Pradesh near the Nepal border, were transported to Leh for the occasion. Shah observed traditional religious rituals, which included the 'Mandala' and 'Sumba' offerings, symbolizing the body, speech, and mind of Buddha.
Beyond the religious facet, Shah launched a series of dairy development projects in Kargil, aiming to bolster milk production and self-sufficiency in Ladakh. The initiative includes mobile milk testing labs and modern milk cooling systems as part of the region's planned 'white revolution.'
