Fast-Track Court to Expedite Zubeen Garg Death Case

The Gauhati High Court has appointed a fast-track sessions court dedicated to the Zubeen Garg case, marking a significant move in the pursuit of justice for the deceased artist. This decision follows a request from the Assam state cabinet.
Baksa district judge Sharmila Bhuyan will preside over the court, tasked with conducting daily trial sessions. The court aims to expedite the process following the charge sheet filed by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Assam Police's CID, which named seven accused in the case.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed gratitude to the Chief Justice for facilitating this development, emphasizing the administration's commitment to timely justice. The 52-year-old singer died under mysterious circumstances in Singapore in September last year.
