A militant, implicated in a deadly assault on police, was killed in northwest Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region, authorities confirmed on Friday. This follows a joint operation by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and local police.
The raid, executed late Thursday in Paharpur tehsil, Dikhan district, was based on intelligence reports about militant activity. The militancy cell leader, identified as Ahmad from the Dotani tribe, had ties with the defunct Kachi militant group.
Authorities noted Ahmad's extensive criminal record, including direct involvement in an attack killing seven police officers via an IED on a patrol. His death is seen as a pivotal advancement in the ongoing struggle against regional terrorism.
