The Economic Offences Unit (EOU) of Bihar Police has stepped up efforts to tackle corruption in government departments by forming a special task force. Senior officials have confirmed that the dedicated team is scrutinizing irregularities in tender processes following multiple complaints.

Under the leadership of SP Pankaj Kumar, the EOU has been active in addressing financial crimes. Recent actions include the arrest of fraudsters, registering disproportionate assets cases, and conducting raids revealing substantial illicit gains.

Among the most significant cases is the illegal mining scam that cost the government Rs 350 crore. The culprits allegedly manipulated official software, undermining revenue controls. The EOU continues its diligent work in probing various sectors, including the cooperative sector and public banks.
