Delhi police have intensified security ahead of Hanuman Jayanti, following the arrest of suspected Lashkar-e-Taiba handler, Shabir Ahmed Lone. Lone allegedly planned attacks on major temples. Enhanced surveillance and restrictions on processions are measures to ensure peace in areas like Jahangirpuri, previously impacted by festival violence.

Amidst heightened tensions, Delhi police have ramped up security efforts in preparation for Hanuman Jayanti. The increased vigilance follows the arrest of Shabir Ahmed Lone, a suspected Lashkar-e-Taiba operative, who reportedly planned terrorist strikes on the capital's renowned temples.

Authorities disclosed during Lone's interrogation that he had filmed and gathered information on key religious sites like Chhatarpur Temple, Kalkaji Temple, and Lotus Temple. His activities aimed to bolster a terror network, allegedly in coordination with handlers linked to Pakistan's ISI. Significant precautionary measures have been enacted, involving CCTV surveillance and drones.

In historically sensitive regions, such as Jahangirpuri, police have enforced caps and restrictions on religious processions to ensure public safety. This response comes following last year's violent incidents during the festival. With an emphasis on peace, local authorities have conducted meetings to maintain unity and prevent any disturbances during this significant cultural event.
