A 37-year-old man from Kannur district, identified as Puthanveetil Jagadeesh, was apprehended for allegedly transmitting obscene messages and images to the State Women's Commission chairperson. The arrest was executed on March 27, with subsequent judicial remanding in Thiruvananthapuram on March 28, according to official police reports.
The complaint was filed by the commission's chairperson, P. Satheedevi, leading to a case being registered under pertinent sections of the Information Technology Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The allegations have sparked serious concerns about the misuse of digital platforms for unlawful activities.
An investigation conducted by Thiruvananthapuram City Cyber police uncovered that Jagadeesh's phone contained similar obscene communications sent to multiple other women, highlighting a persistent pattern in his alleged behavior.
