In a tragic turn of events, retired Army Brigadier Mukesh Joshi was killed during a crossfire between two rival groups in Dehradun. The incident occurred as Joshi, 74, took his morning walk along Mussoorie Road. His funeral was conducted on Wednesday, with Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and other dignitaries paying their respects.

The clash that led to Joshi's death originated from a nightclub dispute at 'Gen-Z' over a billing issue. Following the altercation, rival factions engaged in a shootout involving a Fortuner and a Scorpio. As the factions exchanged fire, Joshi was fatally injured. Police have arrested seven individuals and are actively pursuing remaining suspects.

Uttarakhand's government has responded to the incident by initiating 'Operation Prahar' to target criminal activities. The Chief Minister has condemned the violence and assured the public of justice to the fullest extent. The state's opposition leader, Harish Rawat, has also expressed condolences and support to Joshi's family during this difficult time.
