A 29-year-old tech professional reportedly died by suicide after the accidental drowning of her 11-month-old son in a bucket of water at their residence, according to police reports dated Thursday. The heartbreaking incident occurred on April 1 within Chandra Layout Police Station limits.
Police also found a letter in English apparently written by the woman, expressing her inability to save her son, and asking for forgiveness. The tragedy came to light after her husband, engineer Mahantesh Wali, filed a complaint. The couple, who had been residing in a rented house for four years, had an 11-month-old son named Agasthya.
On the day of the incident, Mahantesh left for work at around 9 am, leaving his wife, Pratibha Wali, and their child at home. Upon returning at 6.30 pm, he found no response at the door. Using a spare key, he discovered his wife allegedly hanged and their child deceased. Police are investigating further, prompted by the husband's suspicion regarding the circumstances of the deaths.
