A police sub-inspector in Pilibhit district has been suspended following a viral video that allegedly shows him assaulting a man at a roadside eatery.
Ravindra Baliyan, stationed at the Aasam outpost under Sungarhi police, reportedly slapped and beat a man named Kashiram without clear provocation. The victim claimed to have been beaten with a stick, sustaining injuries.
In response to the outcry, SP Sukirti Madhav Mishra has ordered an investigation, with Circle Officer Deepak Chaturvedi stating that further actions will follow based on the findings.
