Tensions Erupt: Iraq Closes Shalamcheh Border After Fatal Airstrikes

Tensions soared between Iraq and Iran as Iraq shut its Shalamcheh border crossing with Iran. This measure follows devastating airstrikes on the Iranian side, which tragically claimed the life of an Iraqi citizen.

Security sources disclosed that the strikes targeted a passenger reception zone, resulting in severe injuries to at least five Iraqis. Iraqi police were tasked with recovering the deceased Iraqi man's body while those injured were rushed to hospitals, with their conditions largely being critical.
