UN Condemns Israel's 'Illegal Aggression' in Lebanon
United Nations experts condemned Israel's recent bombing in Lebanon as illegal and indiscriminate, calling it a violation of international law. The strikes, the heaviest since recent conflict escalations, were conducted after Hezbollah resumed rocket attacks on Israel. Over 250 people were killed on April 8.
United Nations experts have condemned Israel's recent bombing campaign in Lebanon, labeling it an "illegal aggression and indiscriminate bombing campaign," according to a statement from the United Nations Human Rights Council.
The strikes, reported as Israel's heaviest in Lebanon since a conflict with Hezbollah began last month, resulted in over 250 casualties on April 8.
Hezbollah had resumed rocket attacks on northern Israel after a temporary ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu maintains that Lebanon was not included in the ceasefire agreement.
