High Court Mandates Swift Probe Completion for UK Doctor in Social Media Case

The Bombay High Court has instructed police to conclude their investigation against UK-based Dr. Sangram Patil within three weeks. Patil, previously restricted from travel due to legal actions over his social media remarks targeting BJP leaders, must submit an undertaking to cooperate with the probe.

The Bombay High Court has ordered the police to complete their investigation against UK-based Dr. Sangram Patil, accused of making objectionable social media comments targeting BJP leaders, within three weeks.

Patil, restricted from traveling due to an FIR and Look Out Circular (LOC) since December, risks job loss in the UK. His counsel, Rajiv Shakdher, conveyed regret over any offensive posts.

Justice Ashwin Bhobe mandated that if the probe isn't completed timely, the police wouldn't object to suspending the LOC, provided Patil submits an undertaking to cooperate with the investigation. Subsequent court proceedings are scheduled for May 5.
