Iranian authorities have released Nepali national Amrit Jha, who was detained during ongoing conflicts, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The 33-year-old ship captain was freed after a local court's order in Tehran, facilitated by the Honorary Consul General of Nepal.

Jha, a resident of Triyuga Municipality in Udaypur district, was arrested by Iranian military forces while transporting fuel between Dubai and Iran. Details surrounding his detention on Qeshm Island near the Strait of Hormuz remain unclear, including the specific reasons and date of arrest. Efforts continue to expedite his return home.

In a separate development, the United Arab Emirates has released 128 Nepali nationals from various prisons. The gesture, done in honor of the holy month of Ramzan, has been warmly received by the Nepali government, which expressed gratitude for the UAE's humanitarian initiative.
