In a tragic turn of events, Hassan Abu Khalil dreams were shattered as he survived an Israeli strike that claimed the lives of 13 family members in Tyre, southern Lebanon.
Late Thursday, just minutes before a ceasefire, Abu Khalil stepped out for a coffee only to return to devastation. Rescuers are still pulling bodies from what was once his home.
Over 2,294 people, including 177 children, have perished in the conflict since March, now halted by a U.S.-brokered ceasefire. Abu Khalil's sorrow echoes through Lebanon as many grapple with loss.
