Jammu and Kashmir Unveils Rs 3,440 Crore Plan for Disaster Recovery by 2025

The Jammu and Kashmir administration has drawn up an ambitious Rs 3,440.43 crore plan aimed at permanently restoring damages from calamities by 2025. Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo has instructed departments to adhere to timelines and facilitate swift project execution.
At a high-level meeting, Dulloo emphasized the importance of expediting approvals and tendering processes to ensure that project work begins by June. Departments are expected to finalize tenders and complete projects on schedule, strictly based on approved estimates.
Principal Secretary Chandraker Bharti detailed the allocation of funds across various components, highlighting substantial allocations for recovery, reconstruction, and resilience. Key areas include roads, bridges, and essential infrastructure as part of a 'build back better' strategy, with close monitoring planned by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
