A reputational storm brews at a venerable law college in Pune, as five students face serious accusations of ragging a junior. The case, registered with the Deccan police, emerged over a year after the victim initially reported the incident to college authorities.
Despite an internal investigation, the complainant was left unconvinced. He escalated his grievances through the University Grants Commission's anti-ragging framework, prompting legal action. Allegations included mental and psychological harassment, intense social isolation, and vandalism.
College officials maintain that their probe found no substance in the ragging charges. However, the case continues to unfold as Police assure a comprehensive investigation, hinting at significant ramifications should the claims be verified.
