In a tragic turn of events at a religious ceremony in Shimla district, a woman was shot and killed. Police confirmed on Monday that the deceased, 26-year-old Ritika, was attending a temple consecration ceremony in Kulgaon village.
What began as a joyful celebration turned deadly when an individual fired a bullet amidst the festivities. The shot struck Ritika, resulting in her instantaneous death, and the suspect fled the scene.
Law enforcement swiftly responded, securing the area and collecting evidence, including the weapon used. After a thorough search, officers apprehended the suspect. The case, registered under Section 103 (1) of the BNS and Section 25 of the Indian Arms Act, continues with further investigation.
