An intense five-day manhunt culminated in the safe rescue of a one-and-a-half-year-old boy abducted from the bustling Chandni Chowk market in north Delhi. The suspected kidnapper, Mohammad Firoz, was apprehended, while efforts are ongoing to capture his female accomplice, identified as Kali.
The incident unfolded on April 19, when the child's mother reported the kidnapping to the police. Quick action led to the formation of multiple teams, which diligently analyzed CCTV footage to trace the suspects' movements. The duo targeted unattended children in the crowded market, succeeding in abducting the toddler by offering eatables.
Firoz, who has a criminal background, confessed to being lured by Kali with the promise of Rs 20,000. Authorities are now investigating possible connections to a larger child trafficking network. The operation underscores the commitment and coordination of Delhi's law enforcement agencies in tackling such heinous crimes.
