The North East Students' Organisation (NESO) has issued a strong call for immediate action to address the endemic violence in Manipur. On Monday, the organization, which represents student bodies across the North East states, published a statement articulating deep concerns over the persistent cycle of violence affecting the region.

NESO Chairman SB Jyrwa expressed alarm at the violence against civilians, labeling it as a significant humanitarian issue that challenges human dignity and security. The organization pointed to the resulting grief, fear, and uncertainty confronting families and communities, extending condolences to affected families and reinforcing their solidarity with them.

Criticizing both state and central authorities for their ineffective intervention, NESO demanded a fair and transparent resolution to prevent further escalation of conflict. Jyrwa urged all parties to embrace dialogue and mutual respect as the only viable route to peace, calling for urgent action from authorities to restore order and enforce accountability.
