Internal security is as important as the country's external security, all India joint general secretary of the RSS Krishan Gopal said on Wednesday. Addressing a seminar of ex-servicemen in Himachal Pradesh's Hamirpur, he said that the Army's presence on the country's external borders provides security to the countrymen. Similarly, the RSS is engaged in creating disciplined, patriotic citizens within the country. The current Indian Army is one of the best military forces of the last 2000 years, he added. ''From manufacturing military equipment to proving its mettle on various global fronts, the Indian Army has become a leader in the development of everything from firearms to lethal weapons, and from small aircraft to unmanned aerial vehicles,'' the RSS leader said. He said that the Sangh has more than 90,000 branches across India. It is engaged in implementing the applied part of patriotism, contacting farmers, labourers, teachers, shopkeepers, doctors, engineers and citizens from every section of society, inspiring them to move in one direction.
