China to take countermeasures against EU if cybersecurity act revision is approved

​China plans ‌to take strong ​countermeasures in case ‌the European Union passes a revision of its ‌cybersecurity act that China ‌considers would violate World Trade Organisation's rules, ⁠the ​Chinese ⁠Commerce Ministry said on Wednesday.

The "proposal ⁠is typical unilateral and ​protectionist measure," the Chinese ministry ⁠said in a ⁠statement ​handed over to reporters. The revised ⁠act would abandon technological neutrality ⁠and ⁠undermine China-EU trade, it added.
