China to take countermeasures against EU if cybersecurity act revision is approved

China plans to take strong countermeasures in case the European Union passes a revision of its cybersecurity act that China considers would violate World Trade Organisation's rules, the Chinese Commerce Ministry said on Wednesday.
The "proposal is typical unilateral and protectionist measure," the Chinese ministry said in a statement handed over to reporters. The revised act would abandon technological neutrality and undermine China-EU trade, it added.
