China says EU's "Buy-European" act is discriminatory, demands changes

China regards the European Union's "Buy-European" act as discriminatory and a violation of multilateral trade rules and demands it be amended, the Chinese Commerce Ministry said on Wednesday.
The proposed EU "Industrial Accelerator Act" would set EU-made content and low-carbon requirements for sensitive industries' manufactured goods bought through public procurement or receiving manufacturing subsidies.
The EU is applying "typical double standards", a Chinese diplomat told reporters.
