Odisha: CRPF constable held for 'raping' woman
The Odisha Police on Wednesday arrested a CRPF constable for allegedly raping a 45-year-old woman over several years on the pretext of marrying her, officials said. He allegedly raped the woman several times in Berhampur and Gopalpur, a police officer said. After completing all procedures, including medical test and recording of statements, he was arrested, the officer said.

The Odisha Police on Wednesday arrested a CRPF constable for allegedly raping a 45-year-old woman over several years on the pretext of marrying her, officials said. The accused, a resident of Dakhinapur village in Ganjam district, is engaged with the CRPF battalion in Nabarangpur, they said. He allegedly raped the woman several times in Berhampur and Gopalpur, a police officer said. Police registered a case against the accused on April 26, based on the victim's statement. ''After completing all procedures, including medical test and recording of statements, he was arrested,'' the officer said. Further investigation is underway.
