In a tragic incident on Thursday, law enforcement officials apprehended a man for allegedly strangling his wife to death in Avinissery. The suspect, Sivaprasad, was taken into custody after being located near his residence, following the fatal attack on his 30-year-old wife, Unnimaya.

According to the Nedupuzha police, Unnimaya was preparing to leave for her job at a private firm when the attack occurred on the upper floor of their home. Her husband purportedly assaulted her amid suspicions of an extramarital affair, a claim that authorities are currently investigating as a potential motive for the crime.

Neighbors were alerted by Sivaprasad's mother and attempted to intervene but were initially blocked from entering the premises. After his departure, they managed to transport Unnimaya to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead. A case of murder has been filed, and an in-depth investigation is ongoing, police confirmed.
