In a shocking turn of events, a woman and her father have been detained by the authorities over the suspected poisoning of her husband, Yatendra Singh, in Uttar Pradesh's Trans Yamuna area. Singh's death, which occurred in November 2025, raised suspicions following his wife's birthday celebration. Residing with his in-laws at the time, Singh's demise was initially a mystery.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (City) Syed Ali Abbas revealed that a post-mortem had been conducted, but the cause of death remained elusive until forensic scientists discovered traces of poison in his system. This major breakthrough prompted police to intensify their investigation, leading to the questioning of Singh's wife, Tanu, and her father, Mahendra.
Faced with irrefutable evidence, both Tanu and Mahendra confessed to spiking Singh's alcohol with a toxic substance. The arrests mark a significant development in a case that has captivated local residents and shed light on the darker facets of domestic life.
