The Thane district witnessed a successful anti-drug operation, with police apprehending 23 individuals during a week-long crackdown. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone-I, MBVV) Rahul Chavan disclosed that the campaign, which spanned from April 20 to April 26, aimed to curb the proliferation of narcotics. As a result, significant quantities of various drugs were seized, including MD, ganja, cocaine, brown sugar, and codeine-based syrup, with a total street value nearing Rs 1.4 crore.

The operation, involving numerous police stations and crime branch units, registered multiple offences against drug possession and consumption. Authorities have expressed their commitment to continue these special drives with increased stringency, intending to dismantle the drug networks more effectively.
