Massive Anti-Drug Operation in Thane: 23 Arrested, Narcotics Worth Rs 1.4 Crore Seized
A week-long anti-drug campaign in Thane led to the arrest of 23 individuals, including two foreign nationals. The operation, conducted by the MBVV police, resulted in the seizure of narcotics valued at nearly Rs 1.4 crore. Authorities are committed to intensifying efforts against drug networks.

The Thane district witnessed a successful anti-drug operation, with police apprehending 23 individuals during a week-long crackdown. The operation, initiated by the MBVV police, focused on dismantling drug networks within Zone-I, leading to the arrest of both local and foreign nationals involved in illegal narcotics activities.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone-I, MBVV) Rahul Chavan disclosed that the campaign, which spanned from April 20 to April 26, aimed to curb the proliferation of narcotics. As a result, significant quantities of various drugs were seized, including MD, ganja, cocaine, brown sugar, and codeine-based syrup, with a total street value nearing Rs 1.4 crore.
The operation, involving numerous police stations and crime branch units, registered multiple offences against drug possession and consumption. Authorities have expressed their commitment to continue these special drives with increased stringency, intending to dismantle the drug networks more effectively.
