Delhi's Bold Stance Against Narcotics: A Combined Crackdown and Awareness Drive

The Delhi Police's recent week-long anti-drug campaign resulted in 24 cases filed under the NDPS Act and the arrest of 23 individuals, according to an official report released on Friday.
Conducted between April 24 and April 30, the operation included enforcement actions that led to the seizure of various narcotic substances, such as marijuana, 24 grams of smack, 8 grams of heroin, and 5 liters of codeine syrup. Additionally, authorities recovered 499 capsules and 400 tablets of tramadol, 240 tablets of alprazolam, and Rs 3,650 in cash.
Beyond arrests and seizures, the campaign emphasized community engagement, reaching over 31,000 students with an anti-drug pledge and directly interacting with citizens via public awareness drives. Chemist stores were also targeted for outreach, with police distributing 'Nasha Not Cool' bands and educating shopkeepers on the responsible distribution of pharmaceutical drugs.
