Residents of Delhi's Municipal Corporation wards are encouraged to participate in the city's ongoing self-enumeration exercise for Census 2027. The initiative, which started on Friday, aims to gather accurate data and includes everyone, notably tenants and migrants, officials reported.
Authorities stress the importance of participating in the exercise, as it captures a realistic demographic profile critical for city planning. However, they warn against fraudulent activities tied to the Census, with reports of scams seeking OTPs or bank details under fraudulent pretenses.
Residents should report suspicious incidents to the Cyber Crime Helpline at 1930. Participation involves logging into the Census portal to complete household details, with a generated ID for subsequent official visits, ensuring data integrity and safeguarding personal information.
