According to regional governor Oleh Syniehubov, the assault damaged multiple infrastructures, including homes, shops, and a food outlet. The strike centered in the town left critical debris requiring days for clearance.

Merefa resident Ihor Kolodiazhnyi shared his harrowing experience as he searched for his wife, one of the victims. Eyewitnesses recounted the destruction, with regional prosecutors attributing it to an Iskander-type missile, highlighting an escalation in the conflict's impact on civilians.
