Kishore Datta Resigns as Advocate General of West Bengal Again
Kishore Datta has resigned from his role as the advocate general of West Bengal. Appointed for a second term in December 2023, Datta had initially served from February 2017 to September 2021. His resignation follows that of his predecessor, SN Mookherjee, leaving the position open once again.

Kishore Datta, who served as the advocate general of West Bengal for a second time, has resigned from his post on Tuesday, according to an official statement.
Datta submitted his resignation to Governor RN Ravi. Initially appointed as advocate general in February 2017, his first term lasted until September 2021.
He was reappointed in December 2023 after SN Mookherjee resigned. Datta has been a prominent figure among the five advocate generals under Mamata Banerjee's administration.
