A bomb threat call disrupted operations for two hours at the Rohini Sector 18-19 Metro Station in northwest Delhi, the Delhi Fire Service (DFS) reported. The call came in around 6.10 pm, prompting an immediate response from multiple emergency teams.
Police, bomb disposal units, the canine squad, and fire department personnel conducted a comprehensive search of the Metro station. As a precaution, commuters were notified, and security measures were intensified. An official from the DFS confirmed that after a thorough sweep of platforms and nearby areas, no suspicious items were found.
Authorities declared the call a hoax at approximately 8.10 pm, beginning an investigation to identify the caller. Officials asserted that those responsible for this false alarm would face stringent penalties for causing unnecessary panic and misuse of emergency resources. The investigation continues.
