The confrontation took place at a coal siding operated by Central Coalfields Ltd under the Mufassil Police Station's jurisdiction on Tuesday night, according to the police.

Sadar Sub-Divisional Police Officer Jeetwahan Oraon confirmed the death of a villager, whose body has been sent for post-mortem analysis. The injured security guards are receiving treatment at Central Coalfields Ltd hospital.

The manager of the coal project, Ram Sagar, stated that approximately 100 locals attempted to steal coal, leading to violence when confronted by security. With the police's arrival, the alleged thieves dispersed. Meanwhile, villagers have accused the security guards of causing the man's death, sparking a protest at the site. An investigation is underway to determine the truth behind the incident.
