Escalation in Gaza: Airstrikes Target Hamas Leadership
An Israeli airstrike in the Gaza Strip killed a senior Hamas police officer, Naseem al-Kalazani, amid ongoing violence despite a ceasefire. At least 830 Palestinians have died since the truce began, with Israel targeting Hamas operatives to thwart planned attacks. The conflict has claimed over 72,500 Palestinian lives since 2023.
An Israeli airstrike eliminated senior officer Naseem al-Kalazani of Hamas' Interior Ministry in Gaza, as confirmed by health officials and Hamas sources on Wednesday.
The attack, targeting a vehicle in Khan Younis, resulted in Kalazani's death and injured at least 17 others. He was leading the anti-narcotics force in the region.
Israel continues to intensify strikes on Gaza's Hamas-run police force while blaming Hamas for ceasefire violations. The conflict, despite a truce since October 2025, has seen considerable casualties on both sides.
