West Bengal Police are intensively investigating the murder of Chandranath Rath, a close aide of BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari, who was gunned down in North 24 Parganas district.
According to the authorities, the murder appears pre-planned as they analyze CCTV footage from the crime scene and surrounding areas. Police teams have been created to track the suspected contract killers, while forensic experts have collected evidence from the site.
The attack on Rath happened while he was returning to Madhyamgram from Kolkata. During this incident, the perpetrators intercepted his vehicle and fired several rounds.
