High-Stakes Seizures: Marijuana Busts at IGI Airport
Customs officials at Indira Gandhi International Airport seized over 24 kg of suspected marijuana worth more than Rs 24 crore in three separate cases involving passengers arriving from Bangkok. In a major crackdown on narcotics trafficking, Customs officials at Indira Gandhi International Airport have seized over 24 kg of suspected marijuana in three separate incidents involving passengers from Bangkok.
The most significant seizure involved an Uzbek national, from whom officials recovered 18.003 kg of marijuana valued at Rs 18 crore on May 4. The passenger was arrested the following day under the NDPS Act.
Further, two Indian passengers were apprehended in subsequent operations, with one carrying 5.467 kg of marijuana worth Rs 5.46 crore and the other possessing 977 grams valued at Rs 97.77 lakhs. All suspects face legal action as investigations continue.
