Census 2027 Kickoff: Delhi Launches 15-Day Awareness Drive

The Office of the Registrar General of India, along with the Directorate of Census Operations in Delhi, has initiated a 15-day awareness campaign targeting the first phase of Census 2027. The effort includes six mobile outreach vehicles traversing the national capital, marking a significant step towards informing citizens about the upcoming census.
The campaign, running from May 7 to May 21, will visit 180 key locations identified by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD). These vehicles, equipped with LED TVs and interactive displays, aim to engage the public through Q&A sessions and informative jingles in English and Hindi, providing essential details about household listing and available amenities documentation.
The initiative underscores the importance of public participation, highlighting the census as a cornerstone for developmental planning in India. The Census 2027 will unfold in two phases, with the initial phase focusing on house-listing and housing conditions, followed by population enumeration starting February 2027.
