Three friends drown in stream in Telangana

Three friends drowned in a stream in Siddipet district of Telangana, police said on Thursday. On hearing their cries, another friend is suspected to have jumped into the water to rescue them, but all three drowned, a police official said. With the help of expert swimmers the bodies of the three persons were recovered on Thursday, police said.

The incident occurred at Nacharam on Wednesday and their bodies were recovered on Thursday, they said adding none of them knew how to swim. The three friends, all aged 27, had gone to Toopran to attend a wedding. Initially two of them entered the stream for a bath, but started drowning. On hearing their cries, another friend is suspected to have jumped into the water to rescue them, but all three drowned, a police official said. A passerby alerted the police. With the help of expert swimmers the bodies of the three persons were recovered on Thursday, police said.
