Wall collapse claims 2 lives in Jharkhand’s Palamu
Two persons were killed after a wall of a dilapidated house collapsed in Jharkhands Palamu district on Friday, police said. The deceased have been identified as Satish Baitha 20, son of housewoner Pradeep alias Gatauri Baitha, and Dukhi Bhuiyan 60, a labourer from the same village, they said. He said the incident took place while repair work was underway at the site.

Two persons were killed after a wall of a dilapidated house collapsed in Jharkhand's Palamu district on Friday, police said. The incident occurred around 1 pm at Pahad Gerua village within Bishrampur police station limits. The deceased have been identified as Satish Baitha (20), son of housewoner Pradeep alias Gatauri Baitha, and Dukhi Bhuiyan (60), a labourer from the same village, they said. ''The victims were drinking water when the wall suddenly collapsed, burying them beneath the debris. The labourer died on the spot, while Satish was declared dead on arrival at Medinirai Medical College and Hospital,'' Bishrampur OC Rishikesh Dubey said. He said the incident took place while repair work was underway at the site. ''Three to four labourers were employed for the repair work. Preliminary investigation found that the wall had become weak due to rain. Both the bodies were sent for post-mortem examination,'' the OC said.
