Thane's Triumph: Lok Adalat Sets Precedent in Dispute Resolution

Thane district led Maharashtra in resolving 29,392 cases during the National Lok Adalat, resulting in Rs 63.42 crore in settlements. This achievement marks the fifth consecutive top ranking for Thane. Significant resolutions included longstanding disputes, motor accident claims, and minor criminal cases, demonstrating the efficacy of Lok Adalat.

Thane district clinched the top position in Maharashtra as it successfully resolved 29,392 cases during the recent National Lok Adalat. This remarkable feat resulted in settlements awarding a total of Rs 63.42 crore.

The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Secretary, Ravindra S Pajankar, highlighted that Thane has topped the state for five consecutive times, effectively utilizing the Lok Adalat process.

Substantial resolutions included decades-old disputes, motor accident claims granting swift relief of Rs 15.64 crore, matrimonial disputes, and numerous minor criminal cases, saving time and costs for litigants.
