In a significant operation, police in the western suburbs of Andheri have arrested two men from Uttarakhand alleged to be in possession of heroin valued at Rs 3.82 crore.
The Anti-Narcotics Cell’s Kandivali unit conducted a raid in Versova, acting on a tip-off, discovering 765 gm of heroin. The suspects, identified as Arman Ayub Malik and Danish Bhura Ali, were reportedly working with a large drug syndicate based in north India, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police Navnath Dhavale.
The duo allegedly earned Rs 25,000 monthly for their role in distributing drugs. This arrest is the unit's second significant bust within 10 days, raising concerns over the expanding reach of drug networks. Investigations are ongoing to unravel the syndicate's supply and distribution chains.
